Crash Bandicoot was created in 1996 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin while working for Naughty Dog. The first games were then released exclusively on PlayStation 1 by Universal Interactive Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment. Most games are basically platformers but also some racing games like Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing and party games like Crash Bash have become part of the Crash series. Antagonists in the series are often the powerful Dr Neo Cortex and the evil worm Uka Uka.
